1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS
A. Provide vinyl siding and accessories that comply with
requirements of ASTM D 3679, Class 2.
1. Cell classification: 1334.
2. Tensile strength: 7,344 psi.
3. Modulus of elasticity: 455,750 psi average.
4. Izod impact, standard 1/8 inch bar: 1.5 ft.lbs/in
average.
5. Deflection temperature: 168 degrees F.
6. Flash ignition temperature: 752 degrees F.
7. Self ignition temperature: 842 degrees F.
8. Maximum smoke density: 86 percent.
9. Smoke density rating: 52.4 percent average.
10. Flammability, horizontal:
a. Burn distance: Less than 10 mm.
b. Burn time: Less than 5 seconds.
11. Flammability, vertical: Non-burning.
12. Wind load resistance: 58.2 ft-lbs/sq. ft.
1.5 SUBMITTALS
A. Submit under provisions of Section 01300.
B. Product Data: Manufacturer's standard information and
installation instructions on vinyl siding and
accessories.
C. Selection Samples: Submit full range of color chips for
Architect's selection.
D. Verification Samples: Submit three samples of siding
products in color specified, not less than 12 inches in
length.
NOTE ** Delete article below if Symmetry siding is not
required for project.
1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE
A. Symmetry Siding Installer: Trained installer certified
and approved by siding manufacturer.
1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
A. Deliver products to project site in original packaging.
B. Store siding products on flat surface under cover,
stacked no more than 12 boxes high. Do not store in any
location where temperatures may exceed 130 degrees F.
1.8 WARRANTY
A. Provide manufacturer's standard limited lifetime, non-
prorated warranty, transferable to new owner.
PART 2 PRODUCTS
2.1 MANUFACTURER
A. Provide vinyl siding products manufactured by Wolverine
Vinyl Siding, 750 E. Swedesford Rd., Valley Forge, PA
19482. ASD. Telephone: 888-838-8100.
B. Substitutions will not be acceptable.
2.2 PRODUCTS
A. Material Properties: Provide polyvinyl chloride products
with properties that meet or exceed the following:
1. Shrinkage: 3 percent.
2. Coefficient of linear expansion: 0.000031
in/in./degree F.
3. Gardner impact: 1.74 in./lb ft/mil.
4. Surface distortion at 120 degrees F: None.
5. Gloss (75 degree T Gloss Meter): Uniform.
6. Weathering per ASTM D 1435: Free of any visual
surface defects, such as peeling, chipping, cracking,
flaking or crazing due to manufacturing conditions.
7. Chalking: Number 6 Rating caused by manufacturing
defects within 5 years in vertical exposure.
8. Color: Uniform on surface and throughout the panels.

2.6 FASTENERS AND ACCESSORIES
A. Fasteners: Galvanized nails or other corrosion-resistant
fasteners, as recommended by manufacturer for specific
application.

PART 3 EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Prior to beginning installation of vinyl siding products,
examine substrate conditions. Verify governing
dimensions and acceptability of substrate. Do not
proceed with installation until unsatisfactory conditions
have been corrected.
3.2 INSTALLATION
A. Install vinyl siding products in strict accordance with
manufacturer's instructions.
NOTE ** Delete paragraph below if no Symmetry siding is
required for project.
B. Install Symmetry siding using pre-manufactured clip
system approved by siding manufacturer.
C. Attach products securely to substrate for weathertight
installation, with all joints true and plumb.
3.3 ADJUSTING AND CLEANING
A. Clean any dirt from surface of installed products, using
mild soap and water.
B. Upon completion of installation, remove from project site
excess materials and debris caused by vinyl siding
installation.
